Kuan Yin Qigong

In Flow

What is Qigong?

Qigong is an internal martial art that focuses on health and longevity. Through cultivating Qi/Chi/Energy we develop inner strength. Qigong is a gentle but profound exercise for the whole body, its difference from Tai Chi is in its simplicity, there are not so many movements to learn. Anyone can quickly pick up the movements and many can be practiced in a chair/wheelchair.

Who is Kuan Yin ? and what is her significance for our practice?

Kuan Yin’s images and statues can be found across East Asia, particularly in China and Japan. Kuan Yin is honoured as a divine being and is said to have lived on earth, in her passing she decided to remain spiritually connected to earth to assist humanity in their awakening and how to live their divine destiny. She is also known as a Bodhisattva of compassion, the embodiment of selfless love, the face of Divine Mother, full of love and compassion.

Kuan Yin hold a special place in my heart and my healing process, and perhaps yours too.

Three major aspects of Kuan Yin Qigong:

  • The connection with your compassionate heart, Goddess Kuan Yin, anchors the balance of compassion and empowerment.

  • Hormonal balance, which reflects in your sexual health and vitality.

  • Qigong means cultivating Qi through your breath. By focusing on harnessing our Qi and developing sensitivity to it. This results in receiving the inexhaustible source of Qi that you can find in nature.

Why this practice is so unique?

The practice incorporates body movements for a full work out from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes, we work with strengthening the muscles, lengthen your tendons, opening up the fascia, stimulate the circulation, lower your blood pressure, tone the pelvic floor and balance your hormones. I include a facial massage to tonify the muscles of the face and reduce puffiness, breast massage to help the lymphatic drainage, keeping our breasts healthy and pert. Stimulating your bone health through tapping, almost like giving yourself a acupuncture treatment. You will gain insight to meridians and acupressure points, begin to harness and feel the Qi in your palms.

Studies have shown that through practicing Qigong at least once a week you can: improve overall health, increase energy, revitalise the body & mind, prevent or control disease, tone the internal organs, improve balance, reduce stress, boost immunity, remove toxins, tone your muscles and tendons, uplift your mood, contribute to your life’s longevity, lower your blood pressure, sharpen your mind and bringing about balance and harmony.
