My Journey

After the birth of my third child, due to complications I was left very unwell, both physically and mentally traumatised. I later underwent several operations, at one point I was in a wheelchair, had to change to an automatic car, the house was adapted to cater for my needs and I had severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) amongst a huge wave of debilitating symptoms.

During this period I found yoga. I felt the benefits of pranayama (breathing techniques) to ease my anxiety and enjoyed the strengthening postures, the benefits of practice and the subtle transformation started to emerge. I was breathing easier; the anxiety was losing its grip and my body was becoming stronger.

I felt so inspired by the transformational qualities that practicing Yoga brings, that I felt drawn to becoming a Yoga teacher myself. I spent 4 years studying with a beautiful teacher who also taught the ‘sister science of Yoga - Ayurveda’. This 3000 year old holistic practice addresses the healing and longevity of the physical body, the mind and the connection to our higher self. The system offers a pathway to radiant health through nutrition, herbs and spices, yoga practices, massage therapies and changes to lifestyle. I then spent a further 3 years training to become an Ayurvedic Health Care Coach and trained in Ayurvedic Massage.

During this period of rehabilitation I felt drawn towards other holistic treatments and in particular how to heal myself from within on a multi dimensional level. I found the life changing system of Reiki.

After several treatments I was able to let go of the energetic trauma that was created years ago, all the memories, the night terrors, the pain that had sat stagnant consuming my life, had left my body and I was finally free and open to allow the healing to begin.

Just as the awakening and healing qualities that I experienced through Yoga and Ayurveda had inspired me to teach and share with others, I felt compelled to share the same qualities that Reiki can offer. I trained through the lineage of Western Reiki and deeper into the Japanese system, Zen meditation and Japanese culture. I found Zenways and Daizan Julian Skinner, through his teachings I became more aware of Kuan Yin and identified with her compassionate heart. I studied Zen Compassion Plus Teacher Training, which is a beautiful meditation practice.

On reflection 16 years forward, I had discovered that my symptoms held so many similarities to those of Western Women going through the Perimenopause. There is more and more evidence that suggests the wisdom that lies within every Woman, instinctively understands what is needed for their highest and greatest good.

By shutting down my reproductive capabilities at the point where I almost lost my life in childbirth, an inner knowing acted upon my best interests. It was just not recognised by myself or other health professionals.

Scientists have also recognised that many Women in War zones, refugees, or suddenly bereaved, they too can experience the early onset of menopause.

During the period of lockdown in 2022, I found yoga teacher training in the perimenopause. I identified with so many of the symptoms and wanted to educate myself more on this subject and how I could aid myself and others. A segway from this training led me to ‘The Womb Cave’, where I discovered how to connect with the consciousness of my womb. In 2023 I trained to teach Menopause Yoga with the lovely Petra Coveney.

Fast forward again to 2024, Kuan Yin was still calling to me and I stumbled across Anamarta and the Jade Circle. Whilst I had been connecting more with my wombs consciousness, I had also heard about Yoni/Jade eggs and their hormonal health benefits. Anamarta taught both the practices of the Jade egg and her unique Kuan Yin Qigong. I dived straight in. I studied and practiced the Tao of Feminine Empowerment and Shamanic Healing. I took my Kuan Qigong Teacher Training at Level 2- Intermediate Instructor.

In 2025 after a period of 9 moons where I allowed myself the time to quieten down and cycle through the menopause symptoms that were now quite full on. I began writing a book, a self help book, part autobiographical on how to navigate life as a Woman and our cyclical ways of being. It’s not quite ready for print !

During that November, I stumbled across ‘Integrative Womb Hara Massage course’ being delivered in Glastonbury. My heart pulled at this thread, and within three weeks I had joined. I had such profound experiences during that week, that I felt drawn to continued on with my Womb Awakening journey. In January 2026 I began the ‘Womb Awakening 9 moon apprenticeship’ with The Institute of Feminine Arts and connected deeply with the Red thread of Mary Magdalene and the priestess lineage, including Kuan Yin.
